Deinocheirus Family

A mother Deinocheirus, grown with algae, swims through the Cretaceous wetlands of what will become the Gobi Desert. On her back is her brood of fluffy chicks, sitting on her for protection and as a food source, the algae.

This speculation is inspired by today’s sloths, manatees and turtles, which sometimes have algae growing on them, advantageous for camouflage, but the chicks on the Deinocheirus also feed on her algae.
